Have you ever wondered what Rome, Paris, Tokyo, New York or Palmia looks like from 136 miles above the earth?
Thanks to a tip from a fellow Palmian, a visit to Microsoft's TerraServer Site may help answer this question.
In a cooperative agreement between Microsoft, the United States Geological Survey and the Russian Space Agency, satellite images down to a resolution of two meters are now available on the World Wide Web.
At the TerraServer site, you can enter the latitude and longitude of the area you want to view, or just the city, state and country. Of course the first image I wanted to see was Mission Viejo, but unfortunately the most current image is mostly cloud cover. However, an image from 1994 was available which shows our community in a partially developed state.
