March 8 Meeting: Staying Safe Online

How to keep your identity safe online

Did you miss me at the February general meeting? I was cruising around South America. There was beautiful scenery, and we saw lots and lots of penguins. The most beautiful were the King Penguins, which we observed in the Falkland Islands. Yes, I took lots of photos, and will share them with you if you attend my digital photography class in March.

Internet Safety

At our 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, general meeting, our guest speaker will be Mr. Bob Gostischa. Bob is going to talk about “Staying Safe Online and Preventing Identity Theft”. Bob says, “It really isn’t important what you use to get to the internet, it’s important to use the right tools once you get there. It’s also important to exercise caution when visiting the internet to avoid the dangers.” Bob has retired from the banking industry and now works with Avast Software. If you are concerned about your safety on the internet, please do not miss this meeting.

Friday Computer Club Classes

On most Fridays, the Computer Club has classes in the Computer/Crafts Room. If you have not attended any of these classes, you are losing out on adding computer knowledge to your life. You will receive an email announcement from one of these instructors prior to the class: Jan Miller, Barry Robbins, or Harvey Gershenson. The announcement will describe the type of instruction you will receive and the time of day the class will be held. Don’t forget to bring your questions when you attend a class. See you on Wednesday evening, March 8.

Have You Paid Your 2017 Dues?
